Bob Iger ‘Zootopia 2’ Cameo Features Weatherman Bob Tiger

Eagle-eyed (or eagle-eared?) attendees of the Walt Disney Animation Studios feature zootopia 2 A familiar voice may have been spotted in the movie this holiday weekend.

Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger, as “Bob Tiger”, explains the weather forecast in a scene.

For theatergoers who are curious about the film’s credits, they confirm that Bob Tiger was portrayed by Robert A. Iger provided the voice, which is credited on IMDb as the veteran Disney executive’s first acting role. Iger joins a voice cast that includes Shakira, Ke Hui Kwan, Macaulay Culkin, Quinta Brunson and. dancing with the stars Winner Robert Irwin.

Iger, of course, has appeared as himself in dozens of documentaries and unscripted projects (he appeared on the ESPN Manningcast just a few weeks ago), but despite Disney’s long history in animation, he’s never voiced an animated character until now.

In fact, this is the second time that Iger has given a weather forecast for a Disney platform. In December 2021, just before his previous exit from the company (his hiatus was short-lived, as we now know), Iger reported weather for Disney-owned ABC station KABC in Los Angeles. Iger’s first job in media was as a meteorologist for a local TV station in Ithaca, New York.

zootopia 2The sequel to the 2016 film, is poised for a blockbuster Thanksgiving weekend, grossing $39 million on its opening day. The film is in many ways emblematic of Iger’s strategy for Disney, which took advantage of Zootopia IP in theme park rides and shows in Florida and China.

And Iger is actually planning to leave Disney this time, with the company telling Wall Street that it expects to name a new CEO next year as Iger’s contract expires at the end of 2026.
