“Every time we do a scene together, it’s so much fun,” Thornton tells People.

“It’s a full-time job,” says Thornton. “It’s been amazing. I mean, those girls, we love them — in real life and as characters.”

She says her scenes with Larter, 49, are particularly fascinating.

“I’m reminded of my past from time to time, from different times in my life,” says Thornton, who has been married six times. “Oh yes.”

The actor says that when he and Larter met before shooting Season 1, they “had a natural rapport”: “Automatically, Ali and I were just passionate friends.”

He feels similarly connected to Randolph, 28. “I mean, automatically, I was protective of Michelle,” he says.

Thornton is as complimentary about his scene partner, Larter, as he is about working with him.
