The first expansion for Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution, Phantom Flames, has finally dropped after a busy launch weekend. Thank god we’re getting good deals off the shelves right now, though we still need to see a return to normal market MSRP pricing outside of pre-orders and limited restocks.
With print runs being tighter than ever, we hope to see the Scarlet and Violet/Mega Evolution era Pokémon TCG reprinted into oblivion. This in turn means we’ll see scalpers move in and big box retailer prices go down, which means better deals for trainers like you.
The Phantasmal Flames Booster Box is currently below market value on Amazon for $299.99, while TCGPlayer’s current market value is $309.81. That’s still higher than the MSRP, but right now it’s well below the market price to get the product below what we’re going to get outside of the aforementioned pre-orders.

Phantasmal Flames focuses on Mega Charizard X with a standard EX, Secret Art Rare, and Gold Hyper Rare. Other Mega Pokémon have made the SIR cut such as Mega Lopunny X and normal Pokémon such as Rotom X. It’s off to a good start as people are getting good pull rates and seeing more stock availability than in the scarlet and violet era.
