Best Black Friday TV deal on a budget: An 85-inch TCL Roku TV for $498

Save $200: This Walmart Black Friday TV deal brings the 85-inch TCL Roku 4K TV down to just $498. This is probably the cheapest 85-inch TV out of all the best Black Friday deals this season.

I’ve been keeping an eye on the TVs on sale during every major shopping holiday for the past several years. For Black Friday 2025, I’m seeing so many cheap 65- and 75-inch QLED TVs that I’ll almost always recommend getting a QLED TV instead of a regular LED TV. One exception is Walmart’s $498 deal on this massive 85-inch TCL 4K Roku TV — I’ve seen enough TV deals to know that you don’t find an 85-inch TV for under $500 often, if ever.

If your living room is so huge that it almost seems strange not having a big TV, this deal from TCL is your best chance to fill that space on a budget. For reference, the cheapest 85-inch QLED TV deal so far this Black Friday was a $648 Hisense QLED TV that’s already sold out. Or think of it this way: If your maximum budget for QLED was $500, you’d definitely have to settle for 75 inches. (I say “settled” as if 75-inch TVs aren’t big enough yet.)

Still not sure what type of TV you need? Here’s a quick refresher on the benefits of QLED: QLED TVs use the same type of LED backlight panels as LED TVs like this TCL model, but they put a layer of quantum dots between that backlight and the screen. Quantum dots are tiny nanocrystals that are really good at reflecting light and colors, making QLED TVs brighter and more vibrant – something I’ve noticed most when watching sports during the day. But if you’re a very casual TV watcher and don’t even pay attention to things like that, the sheer size of this TCL TV can definitely create a theater-like experience at home.
