If you’re shopping for a laptop on Black Friday, you’re probably looking for something more budget-friendly. Most importantly, it avoids the two main disadvantages of budget laptops: poor displays and touchpads. The Dell 14 Plus comes with a high-resolution display (2560 x 1600) and a very smooth-feeling touchpad. This is literally a premium laptop at an affordable price, and at $500, it’s officially the best deal on a laptop this Black Friday. However, this is a doorbuster-style deal, so once it sells out, the price may change.

Since its launch this spring, the M4 MacBook Air has been the best laptop you can buy. Its price has also continued to decline gradually month-on-month, now reaching just $749. This is so low that it’s not worth buying a cheaper, older MacBook Air like the M2 model. The difference in performance (and external display support) is far more valuable. Yes, the MacBook Air is a better value. And the M4 Pro or M4 Max MacBooks are more powerful. The Asus Vivobook 14 is one of the few Snapdragon X-powered laptops that offers efficient performance and excellent battery life at a surprisingly low price. It’s discounted by $200 for Black Friday, which brings it to the same price as last Amazon Prime Day. There’s really only one problem: the Dell 14 Plus. In every way, this is the laptop you should buy. Not only is it cheaper, but it also has a better display, touchpad, and integrated GPU performance. However, if the limited doorbuster prices on the Dell 14 Plus are over, the Asus VivoBook 14 is your next best option for a Windows laptop around this price.
