Indian filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s film was released three years ago. RRR, A period piece action epic that hit the mainstream and became a global sensation. Following the recently released action epic bahubali Since last October, Rajamouli has got another film: Varanasi—or for those residing in non-Indian countries, globetrotter Or Timetrotter.
The film, which premiered at a huge press event in India, spans multiple time periods. From the titular Indian city to Africa and Antarctica, from 512 CE to 2027 and 7200, there’s a lot going on in the trailer, which offers sweeping shots of different locations and eras. During the event, Rajamouli revealed that he has shot the film for IMAX, and it definitely shows as the score and scope of the film continues to grow in the trailer.
Highlighting the plot details, we know that our main character is Maresh Babu as Rudra, who wields a trident and rides a bull into battle. Other stars include Prithviraj Sukumaran as Kumbha and Priyanka Chopra as Mandikini, both of whom appear to be characters from the present day, while Rudra is from an earlier era.
