A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a critically ill teenage boy was shot dead.
The 16-year-old was found injured on London Road, Sheffield, at around 17:15 GMT on Monday and was taken to hospital.
A 26-year-old man was arrested by Police Scotland in Aberdeen on Saturday night along with a 23-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender, South Yorkshire Police said.
Two boys, aged 15 and 16, were arrested earlier this week on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, but have since been released on bail.
Police said that the condition of the victim remains critical in the hospital.
A 40-year-old man arrested earlier this week on suspicion of assisting an offender has also been released on bail.
Det Ch Inspector Emma Knight, of South Yorkshire Police, said officers were continuing to patrol the London Road area.
“This incident has caused great concern and sadness in the local community and our thoughts are with the child’s family,” he said.
“He is 16 years old and should be thinking about his future but now, his life has been put on hold as he remains in a critical condition after this horrific act of violence.”
