Sleep buds (flat earbuds that you can lie down on comfortably). I had very cheap ones with sleeping masks from eBay. Def helped my sleep patterns when I started using the 30 minute sleep timer with Audible.Kindle. Many years ago the bookworm within me reawakened. Library in pocket. Don’t use it so much since Audible.
Good quality compact tactical torch. |

Shoehorn!
Especially tall if you want to avoid bending at all when wearing slip-ons. Of course they’re mainly great for protecting the back of your shoes. Ikea is perfect (at least for 6’1″ me). |

thermal underwear. Entering the 10th year of the 30 euro Helly Hansen long panties that keep me warm for half the year.
The Raspberry Pi 4 that served as my daily driver for almost three years. Some dumbbells got me started with weight training and kept me active even during Covid. The basic equipment I purchased later saved me hundreds of euros in gym membership. The best buy for less than 10 euros is a simple cube with blank memo notes, which I use for grocery shopping and all kinds of other lists. |

Azumaya brand Kotatsu futons are now my favorite blankets for sleeping and using around the house, and some of them are as low as $100.
They are quite thick and very cozy blankets, I like these way more than any other blanket we have (and we have a few different types of blankets). I’m seriously considering trying other Kotatsu blanket brands, even the really expensive ones. |

I was a heavy user of Photoshop for ~20 years.
These days I only use Photopea when I need to do some small editing. It’s enough for 95% of what I have to do. |
|
I think I’m still using the version that was on a magazine coverdisc that was strangely distributed as a complete edition freebie to advertise the release of the all-new locked-in edition. |

The travel MagSafe stand has been really good for flights. This is what I have, but there are lots of options: https://a.co/d/18k9eCa
I use it with both my phone and Steam Deck (with MagSafe sticker). Obviously I could use either device just by holding it, but it’s more comfortable to do it this way. |

Leatherman skeleton knife. Small, sturdy, has a fair amount of equipment on it. I’ve had one for about ten years and it goes in my pocket every day. Once I managed to break the pliers on it by abusing them badly, Leatherman replaced the tool under warranty with no questions asked. |

I really envy those who have an answer to this question because I can’t give an answer even if you multiply the amount by 1000. |

4 out of my 6 animals that were free. (3 cats, 1 dog) The second one was under $200.
I paid full price for the second one (Miniature Dachshund), and he is a total money maker with all the drama that comes with it. No, we don’t have any kids, why do you ask? 🙂 |

Seki Edge Nail Clippers.
They are much faster and more pleasant to use than your average drugstore nail clippers, you can really feel the quality. I can barely afford regular nail clippers anymore. |

Some of my best purchases were outdoor clothes that I bought on a whim about 7 years ago. I constantly regret not getting some 10 of these, and sadly they don’t make them anymore.

And yet in the 90’s it was the most common thing.
Rivalry at its peak. Removing track balls before entering the computer room of the next class. After this it escalated to fork bombing. The IT technician got so angry that he stuck the plastic release twist hatch closed. :() :;: |

No name espresso machine. I got it as a gift but I doubt it was much more than $100. it works fine. I always thought I’d regret not buying extremely expensive espresso, but it turns out you can get great espresso for very little money. |

Some teas (especially white and green) are best prepared by boiling, but even at low temperatures 99.9…% of pathogens are killed in just a few seconds (vs. a fraction of a second at full boiling). |
|
Some teas boil at temperatures lower than boiling. And I think the risk of germs in tea may be higher, depending on how it’s stored, and the temperature drops below boiling almost immediately when it’s taken out.
I wonder if any studies have been done on this… |

https://lowendbox.com/ has a lot of providers, but I personally use Vultr (no high or low praise for Vultr, but they are solid and cheap).
