Arkansas to hire Memphis’ Ryan Silverfield as next head coach

The Arkansas Razorbacks have found their next head coach. According to On3’s Brett McMurphy, Ryan Silverfield Taking over in Fayetteville.

Silverfield, now 45, has been the head coach at Memphis since 2020. During that time, he has consistently led the Tigers to perform as one of the top five teams in the country. This has been especially true over the past three seasons. Over the last three years, he was 29-9 in Memphis. This ties him into the top 10 winning percentage of all time.

In his six seasons at Memphis, Ryan Silverfield went 50–25 overall and 27–21 in American Conference play. He also led Memphis to four bowl wins, the most by any individual coach in program history. While there, his offenses also set the nation’s longest streak of scoring 20 points or more at 51 straight games.

Before becoming head coach of Memphis, Silverfield was the team’s offensive line coach under Mike Norvell. He has also spent time coaching in the NFL, primarily serving as an assistant offensive line coach at that level. After this he started his coaching career at Bolles School in Florida in 1999.
