Since launch, Ark Raiders players have debated whether it is worth it to complete a resource-intensive campaign project in order to have your raider’s progress and skill tree reset, in exchange for a clean start enhanced by additional stash space and skill points, with skill point payouts tied to the value of your stash at the time of your reset.
The trouble is, we still don’t know how much loot you need to hit that skill point limit, as neither developer Embark nor Ark Raiders’ in-game tips made it clear. And we still don’t, but thanks to a community manager’s Discord comments, we know one thing: your cache stack also counts toward your Stash value.
“Hello, do you know if cash/coins count towards project/campaign stock value?” One user asked. “It would be good to know if we should put the items into storage or if it is safe to sell them.”
Verified Community Manager CM | Lily replied: “Yes! Skill points are rewarded based on Stash+Wallet at the time of departure.”
As evidenced by the reaction from the Ark Raiders Reddit community, this is huge news. A little mystery can be fun, but Ark Raiders can be frustratingly annoying about in-game mechanics, and you don’t want any uncertainty when you’re deciding whether or not to reset your entire account. With this confirmation, we can at least comfortably sell loot to create a stale cash pile instead of a min-max price-per-stash-slot.
But the question is: how much money do you need to earn maximum skill points from an expedition wipe? I’ve seen players put forward a reasonable theory that Embark hasn’t actually decided on yet as it’s still in the process of tabulating live player data to work out a sensible progression curve and reward structure, and it’s as good as any other theory at this point. Even the official campaign explainer shared in Discord doesn’t mention many specifics when you ask about server wipes via commands.
As Reddit user Bukr123 says, “It would be nice to have actual hard numbers instead of vague messages.”
Another Discord user asked Lily if she had “any numbers to share” here. The response came swiftly: “No ATM numbers, skill points and stash space bonuses are permanent.”
I did a quick scan of other community managers’ responses in the server and couldn’t find any additional information about skills or secret rewards.
We’re gonna get there eventually, guys. baby steps. Personally, I won’t go on any expedition until I know exactly what I’m going to do. And from what I’ve read so far, the handful of skills and slots don’t seem worth the hassle.
Ark Raiders has a weird problem for a shooter: the worst guns in the game are actually good,
