Chinese site UDN (via MacRumors) recently reported that Apple has “made a breakthrough” in foldable iPhone development, as it was able to achieve a “crease-free” design, meaning there will be no visible creases when fully unfolding the phone’s display. The report says this should be a big selling point for the iPhone Fold when it launches next year.
This is good news, as some recent reports say that the foldable iPhone could be launched in 2027. The report has also confirmed that the phone will indeed be named “iPhone Fold”.

Unfortunately, the iPhone Fold can come at quite a high price. Fubon Research analyst Arthur Liao says the phone will be priced at $2,399, which is significantly higher than some previous estimates.
However, we’ve seen several previous reports on what the iPhone Fold will cost, and the price range has ranged from $1,800 to $2,500, so this latest report still falls in that range.
Apple’s next iPhone Air and iPhone 18 may launch in March 2027
The report also shares some details on what the iPhone Fold might look like. It claims that the Fold won’t get a fancy variable aperture lens (that’s reserved for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro), but it will have dual rear and dual front cameras.
