Apple may be late to the smart glasses market, but it may be covering all its bases with four possible styles for its upcoming product. according to bloombergAccording to Mark Gurman, Apple may launch some or all of the four styles it is currently testing for its smart glasses.
Gurman reported that Apple is testing a large rectangular frame that is comparable to the Ray-Ban Wayfarers, which feature a slim rectangular design, a larger oval or circular frame, and a smaller oval or circle option, like the glasses Apple CEO Tim Cook wears. Apple is also working on multiple colors, including black, sea blue, and light gray bloomberg.
Internally code-named N50 for now, Apple’s upcoming smart glasses will compete directly with the second-generation Ray-Ban Meta models. Similarly, Apple could differentiate its design with a “vertically oriented oval lens with ambient light,” according to the report. According to Gurman, like the Meta’s smart glasses, Apple’s upcoming product will capture photos and video, but it is aimed to better sync with the iPhone, allowing users to take advantage of Apple’s ecosystem for editing, sharing, phone calls, notifications, music, and even its voice assistant. The release of Apple’s smart glasses may also coincide with the upcoming improved Siri that should come with iOS 27.
Gurman reported that Apple could introduce its smart glasses in late 2026 or early 2027, followed by an official release sometime in 2027. To compete, Meta released its latest model that is better suited for prescription lenses and offers a more customizable fit.
