Amazon’s Kindle Colorsoft is cheaper than ever right now

Amazon Black Friday deals bring many discounts on the company’s own devices. Besides Prime Day, Black Friday is the best time to pick up things like Fire TV Sticks, Echo speakers, and Kindles. In the latter category, one of the best deals is on the Kindle ColorSoft e-reader: it’s discounted to $170, down from its usual price of $250.

The model came out earlier this year and we gave it a glowing review and called it “the missing link in Amazon’s e-reader lineup.” It is the first Kindle e-reader in color, making it one of the best ways to read comic books and graphic novels. The pinch-to-zoom feature lets you get close to details to make each panel really pop.

This is also a high-end e-reader, color or not. We found load times to be exceptionally fast and the same goes for page flipping. It has an auto-adjusting front light, which comes in handy. There are also no lock screen ads by default and a single charge lasts for a full eight weeks of regular use.

The major downside here is the price. It’s really hard to recommend any e-reader at the original launch price of $250, or even $280. At $170 it’s very easy to recommend.

Amazon is also selling similar products at a discount, some of which made our list of the best e-readers. The base Kindle has dropped to $80, another record low. The Paperwhite is on sale for $125, which is another record low price. And keeping with the theme, the current generation Kindle Scribe is on sale for as little as $280, which is the cheapest we’ve seen so far.
