A quick look at the best MacBook deals from Amazon’s Big Spring Sale:
Amazon’s third consecutive Big Spring Sale is running till March 31. And while the sale event mainly revolves around seasonal essentials like cleaning supplies and outdoor gear, it’s also hosting some pretty attractive deals on essential tech — including major Apple products like MacBooks. As Mashable’s resident laptop expert, I’m on the case.
Apple actually refreshed its MacBook lineup earlier this month, announcing an updated MacBook Air and Pro in addition to a brand new budget MacBook Neo. Most configurations of these new releases are seeing their first (small) discount during the Big Spring Sale, with up to $300 off the price of their predecessors.

Keep in mind that Apple has discontinued its last-gen MacBooks, meaning they will only be available on the refurbished market after third-party retailers exhaust their inventory. So, if you see a good deal on an M4 MacBook Air or Pro on Amazon this week, don’t wait too long to add it to your cart. I think they’ll sell out long before this summer’s Prime Day sale. We’re already seeing some listings disappearing and some sale prices rising again, so you better be alert and snag those bargains while they’re still available.

why I like it
The M4 MacBook Air may be a last-generation laptop, but it’s still an incredibly capable ultraportable. (In our testing, it proved to be much faster than excess Expensive Windows laptops.) It has the same 12MP center stage webcam, Liquid Retina display, and 18-hour battery life as its new M5 counterpart, offering slightly faster performance and new wireless connectivity. This 15-inch configuration has the same 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage as the M5 base model, which costs $100 more. It’s worth noting that some 13-inch versions of the MacBook Air have already sold out. Don’t miss it while it’s available and priced at $300 less.

why I like it
Nine bucks off barely counts as a discount, but it’s the best MacBook Neo deal I’ve seen outside of an Apple Store. (You can get a $100 discount there, but only if you’re a college student, someone’s parent, or a school teacher.) This colorful little laptop has the same premium aluminum construction as any other MacBook, and it boasts incredibly impressive single-core performance; In basic everyday tasks like web browsing, it’s just as fast as the M4 MacBook Air. This particular model comes with Touch ID. However, it’s worth noting that the more desirable yellow and pink versions are back to full price today, so you can only get $9 off the silver and indigo versions.

why I like it
The MacBook Pro has more ports and a brighter, smoother display than the MacBook Air. Since it has fans it is also better at handling heavy workloads (like video editing) for long periods of time. I recommend it as an upgrade pick for power users like content creators and developers. The base configuration of the M5 MacBook Pro has an increased storage of 1TB, although the price of that version also went back up today after being reduced to $1,580. It’s now up to $1,649, which is still $50 off the list price. But if you can sacrifice some storage, the 512GB version retails for $1,549.
