Amazon’s website appears to be stable after experiencing technical issues that prevented users from logging in and prices from displaying correctly. DownDetector reported a spike in outage reports around 2 p.m. ET, but as of 5:56 p.m. ET, user complaints have dropped significantly.
The Amazon.com homepage is currently loading, and Engadgets staff are able to load product pages and view prices without any issues. During the peak of the site’s problems, neither was loading consistently, and in some cases clicking resulted in an error page with text that read “Sorry, something went wrong on our end.” Users also reported being unable to log into their accounts.
“We regret that some customers may have experienced issues while making purchases,” Amazon said in a statement to Engadget. “We appreciate customers’ patience as we work to resolve the issue.” The company shared a similar sentiment with customers on X, confirming that it is aware there is a problem and acknowledging that it is working on fixing it. Amazon has not yet confirmed whether the problem has been completely resolved.
As a cloud provider through its Amazon Web Services (AWS) business, Amazon has experienced its fair share of outages, including when services like Snapchat and Amazon’s own Alexa voice assistant were shut down for hours in October 2025. It seems a bit more unusual for a company’s website to be experiencing problems without a major AWS outage, and may suggest that the problem lies outside its cloud infrastructure.
