Manchester United sold Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea three months ago, and the Argentina international has now shared a life update on social media following his move to London
Alejandro Garnacho has shared a number of photos on social media which show he is enjoying his new life in London, following a summer switch from Manchester United to Chelsea.
In the first photo she is holding the hand of her two-year-old son Enzo in what appears to be a Hyde Park winter wonderland. Another shows him watching the fifth and final season of the television series Stranger Things.
The fourth image shows a painting depicting his other half as the comic book superhero Batman. In the other half, he is seen in a Chelsea home shirt, with make-up like the supervillain Joker. Garnacho also references Batman in his 20th and final image.
This image is a still from the movie The Dark Knight. It shows actor Christian Bale looking at Batman’s suit, and the words “No Risk No Story” are added to the photo.
The post also includes Amad and Koby Manu’s Manchester United shirt lying on the bed. The pair swapped shirts after United beat Chelsea at Old Trafford in September.
Several of his former teammates also liked the post, including Bruno Fernandes, Patrick Dorgue and Manuel Ugarte. Álvaro Fernández Carias, with whom he played in the club’s academy, also commented with two fire emojis.
United sold the Argentina international to Chelsea three months ago, two days before the summer transfer window closed. The move was the first of his professional career, having never played outside Madrid before joining United’s academy in October 2020.
Since the switch he has played 11 times, scoring twice and assisting two other goals for his teammates. Those assists came in his last Premier League outing, a 2–0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge.
After that match, his head coach Enzo Maresca spoke at length about the player. He said: “Garna played brilliantly on the ball, but he was also top without the ball. Pedro Neto was exactly the same, and that’s what we need from our wingers.”
“He (Garnacho) came here from another club where he was not training 100 percent, so his physical condition was not good. Slowly, slowly (we have worked on him) and now it is better.”
“He’s performing very well on the ball and off the ball as well. He knows that, to play with us, he has to be good on the ball and off the ball. We’re very happy with him at this moment.”
Ruben Amorim gushed when asked about Garnacho ahead of his return to Old Trafford earlier this autumn. He said: “Garnacho is not our player.”
When asked again, Amorim said: “Guys, I’m not worried about that. I just want to win the game. I don’t care who plays for the opponent, what people will say at the end, or whether the other player will play well. They’re good players, and if things happen they’ll play well. I’m just focused on winning the game. That’s my only concern.”
