Aldi has issued a mass recall, affecting shoppers in two dozen US states.
newsweek Aldi was contacted for comment via email outside normal business hours.
why it matters
Aldi customers have been urged to immediately discard specific holiday-themed food products and many other items due to undeclared allergies and possible contamination.
These recalls underscore the ongoing food safety challenges facing major retailers and highlight the need for increased consumer awareness, particularly for individuals with food allergies or sensitivities. Repetition of foods of this nature can pose serious health risks, including life-threatening allergic reactions for some consumers.

what to know
On Wednesday, Silvestri Sweets Inc. issued a voluntary recall. Choiseur Pecan, Cranberry & Cinnamon Holiday Bark due to possible undeclared wheat allergen and Choiseur Cookie Butter Holiday Bark due to possible undeclared pecan allergen.
Aldi distributed these products in several states as part of its Christmas seasonal offerings.
Both products were available in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Customers who possess these items are urged to dispose of them immediately, as consumption may cause allergic reactions in those with sensitivities.
The recall follows a wide range of product safety alerts at Aldi this year.
