Actress Tara Reid was reportedly taken to the hospital from a Chicago-area hotel over the weekend.
Rosemont Public Safety confirmed to NBC Chicago that they received an ambulance call from the Doubletree Hotel on River Road Sunday morning and transported one person to an area hospital.
Video posted by TMZ, which was obtained by a witness, showed the “American Pie” actress on a stretcher, with the actress telling the publication that she left a drink unattended at the bar while she smoked a cigarette and when she returned, there was a napkin on top of the drink that she didn’t put there. She went to drink her drink and the next thing she remembered was waking up in the hospital.
Reed’s representatives did not respond to NBC Chicago’s requests for comment, but a representative told People that the actress believes her drink was “tampered with” and said she has “filed a police report.”
Police told NBC Chicago that no such reports had been filed as of Monday and that the department had not mentioned allegations of beverage tampering.
“She is cooperating fully with the investigation. Tara is recovering well and asks for privacy during this painful time,” a statement from Reed’s rep said. “She urges everyone to be careful, keep an eye on their beverages and never leave them unattended, as this can happen to anyone.”
Reed was in the Chicago suburbs to attend the Chicago Sports Spectacular on Sunday.
The program confirmed that Reed “appeared on our show on Sunday” and did a photo op with fans.
Reed, 50, is best known for his roles in the “American Pie” films as well as “Sharknado.”
