A Marvel beat-’em-up, long-awaited survival horror and other new indie games worth checking out

Welcome to our latest roundup of what’s going on in the indie game sector. Talk started this week about titles arriving too late to be included in Game of the Year, and we got some new information about upcoming projects, like a release date for the red-looking arena shooter. Don’t wait, Girliepop.

miraculous cosmic attack is one of the high-profile indies hitting consoles and PC this week. It’s from Tribute Games and publisher Dotemu, the same duo that brought us Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, cosmic attack It’s largely taken from the same playbook: it’s also a retro-style side-scrolling beat-’em-up with the look and feel of a ’90s Marvel animated show.

It’s a pretty enjoyable game, mainly because of the variety of characters and the different ways they play. Captain America is one of my favorites. Each character has a secondary move (often a ranged attack) to go along with their basic melee attacks, and Cap has no ammo or cooldown. I never got tired of spamming his shield projectile attack and knocking enemies off the screen.

I also had a lot of fun playing as She-Hulk. His secondary move involves grabbing the enemy and throwing them around. She-Hulk can also toss them into the air and then leap with McTominay-esque athleticism to deliver a kick and send the villain tumbling into her comrades. The character swap system (each player chooses two and can switch between them at any time) promotes tag fighting games and the co-op features work well too.

There’s not an iota of depth to this miraculous cosmic attackUnfortunately, but the presentation is perfect. It’s available now on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S for $30. It is also on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

new releases

It only took 13 years from announcement to release but the horror title lived on daily routine (from Lunar Software and publisher Raw Fury) is out on Steam, the Xbox PC app, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox Cloud. It is available on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

daily routine Frontier offers a slice of space horror with a hint of retro-futurism. Lunar Software combined aesthetics with analog technology based on “how people of the 1980s might imagine a believable moon base”.

Your mission is to locate the base and try to determine how it got to this state. Lunar wanted the routines to feel as immersive as possible, so there are no waypoint markers and you won’t see a heads-up display. Instead, you have a personal data assistant that connects to wireless access points throughout the base and provides you with information about your current goals.

This is another horror title that we have been waiting for for many years. sleep awake Deals with things that go bump in the night. It is a first-person psychedelic horror game in which a power called The Hush makes anyone who falls asleep disappear. So, our hero Katja and the other residents of the last known city on Earth try various methods to stay awake, but they inevitably have to deal with the effects of sleep deprivation.

sleep awake is from Eyes Out – a studio formed by Spec Ops: The Line director Corey Davis and Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Finck – and publisher Blumhouse Games. It’s available now on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S for $30.

How about another scary game? I promise it’s the last time this week. tingus goose It’s been on my radar for a while because it sounds so weird. It is billed as “a relaxing body horror idle game” in which you “sow seeds into patients, raise babies for profit and move from the real world to riches.”

I’m happy with that description from the game’s PR team, because I don’t quite know what to make of the trailer. A swan grows out of a human torso and develops a giant neck and human fingers grow out of it and… it’s all very strange. But I dig it?

tingus goose Sweatychair and is from co-publishers Playsaurus and UltraPlayers. It’s available on Steam for $5.94 until December 8th, and will cost $7 after that.

I haven’t seen anything that looks exactly like that Brilliance RPG First. It is a party-based RPG with a 3D ASCII art style. Here, you have to eliminate enemies to gain better gear.

Andrei Fomin was released Brilliance RPG Early Access is available this week on Steam for $10. The solo developer aims to release the full version of the game in June and add more content and quality of life updates in the meantime. It’s not the kind of game I’m usually drawn to, but the art style alone is cool enough that I want to give it a try.

Looking for something a little more casual? log away is a cozy cabin builder from The-Mark Entertainment. There are many environments to choose from and a variety of decorations are available to you depending on your interest. You may also have a pet, so it qualifies log away As for this week’s dog game.

I’ve played it a bit and found it to be quite comfortable, with a pleasant counter-punch to the non-stop action. cosmic attackIt’s available on Steam right now for $10, but if you buy it by December 11th you’ll save a dollar and get the Christmas-themed DLC at no extra cost,

i worship Sayonara Wild Hearts With every fiber of my being and I appreciated what Simogo did Lorelai and Laser EyesEven though I never stuck with it for long. However, I haven’t played any of the studio’s previous games. This is something I plan to fix soon now Simogo Legacy Collection Is here.

The studio reworked all of its mobile games, including its first seven. walk a year And device 6 – and combined them into one collection that is available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2. It costs $15, although there is a 15 percent discount through December 12. I am very curious to know about it during the holidays.

upcoming

i was so looking forward to this Don’t wait, Girlypop! For a while. It is a movement-focused arena shooter with a Y2K aesthetic. Think of it as an anti-capitalist, hyperpop riff on sports doom eternal,

The demo is a lot of fun and I’m glad this game from Funny Finton Softworks and publisher Quali finally has a release date. It’s coming to Steam on January 29th.

Limbot Looks like it could be a fun party game. You can play it alone, but having three friends join you seems to be the best way. In that case, each of you will take control of one limb of the cardboard robot. So you have to coordinate to move around effectively in this paper world and complete accuracy-based objectives. It feels like a prescription overripe-Style fight between friends.

This physics-based game from Ionized Studios is coming to Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It is expected to arrive between April and June next year.

of polyperfect Zlín City: Arch Modern is a diorama city builder inspired by historical events of the 1930s and 40s and the architecture of Zlín, a city in Czechia (Czech Republic). The developers used 3D printing, photogrammetry, and 3D scanning to capture the objects used in the game. The result is something that – at least at first glance – looks beautifully textured.

There is no confirmed release window for Zlín City: Arch Modern As yet. It will be available on Steam.
