It was kind of a box office bomb, but Pixar’s latest film, about a young boy who becomes the voice of the entire planet, is extremely exciting and heartwarming. It 100% lives up to its Pixar lineage. Read our review here.
final destination bloodlines (on HBO Max)
Maybe don’t show it to Grandma and Grandpa, but the latest film in a tense, funny, gory horror series about the inevitability of death is easily the best film in the franchise. Complete riot. Read our review here.
frankenstein (on Netflix)
frankenstein It’s not Guillermo del Toro’s best film, but it’s the film he’s been making all his life. This is a brilliant, emotional and unforgettable retelling of the classic story with amazing performances at every level. Read our review here.
how to Train Your Dragon (on peacock)
original animated how to Train Your Dragon One of the best animated films of all time. So, it’s no surprise that its live-action remake is also very good. It’s exactly the same film, with a completely new look. Read our review here.
chuck’s life (for rent or purchase)
We appreciate this film. It’s not for everyone, and it gets awkward very quickly, but once it clicks and that lightbulb goes off over your head, you’ll never forget it. Mike Flanagan has become a master of Stephen King adaptations, and this wonderful, delightful King adaptation stands out from the rest. Read our review here, and learn more about some spoilers here.
long walk (for rent or purchase)
A group of young men compete in a life-changing competition where they must march until only one is left. Based on the novel by Stephen King, the film adaptation is surprisingly brutal but worth the trip for the painful performances. Read our review here.
Predator: Killer of killers (on Hulu)
did you see or hear that miracle predator Movies, Hunter: Badlands, Is it in theaters now? Well, its director, Dan Trachtenberg, released another predator movie earlier this year, and it may be even better. It is an animated anthology depicting predators fighting humans throughout history. sinners (on HBO Max)
Part music-driven masterpiece, part horror horror story, sinners It’s unlike anything you’ve ever seen. But, we can’t wait to see director Ryan Coogler and star Michael B. Expect that kind of quality and originality from the Jordan team. Read our review here.
superman (on HBO Max)
There have been so many iterations of Superman over the years, you can assume James Gunn’s new film was the same. but it’s not like that. There’s a palpable joy about Gunn’s film. An optimism and enthusiasm that is lacking in many superhero films these days. This is one you’ll want to watch again and again. Read our review here.
Weapon (on HBO Max)
Then again, maybe it’s not the more easily frightened or angry members of your family, but others, Weapon Not a thing worth forgetting. A spooky mystery about a town that lost an entire class of children is thoroughly entertaining and unforgettable. And messed it up. And scary. And amazing. Read our review here.

If you want to go to the theater there are plenty of good movies to watch there too. yes, everyone will be watching Wicked: for goodAnd you can do that, but we would suggest Predator: Badlands, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, The Running Man, Or zootopia 2 instead.
