Navy senior quarterback Blake Horvath recently chatted with Pressbox about his favorite movie, the bucket-list place he’s never been and much more. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound quarterback threw for 980 yards, rushed for 640 yards and scored 15 touchdowns as part of the Mids’ 6-0 start. Horvath is a native of Hilliard, Ohio and a graduate of Hilliard Darby High School.
Pressbox: If you could switch places with any movie or TV character, who would it be?
Blake Horvath: I would say Po from “Kung Fu Panda”.
PB: What is your favorite movie?
BH: I really like “Prestige”. The latest movie I’ve seen I really like “F1”.
PB: What TV show have you been watching lately?
BH: “Separation,” and I’m watching “Modern Family” again.
PB: Are you a good cook? What’s the best dish you make?
BH: I think I am. I think my girlfriend and parents would say ‘no’. I make really good garlic cream sauce and steak pasta.
PB: What is your favorite thing to do on your day off?
BH: I like watching movies or playing pickleball.
PB: Do you have any hidden talents?
BH: This is strange. I’m good at putting food in other people’s mouths, like M&Ms.
PB: What’s your favorite karaoke song?
BH: Possibly “Party in the USA”
PB: What’s a bucket-list place you’ve never been to?
BH: I would say Rome.
PB: What is your favorite US convention road trip?
BH: I really enjoyed Birmingham last year.
PB: Which book have you read recently?
BH: The one I just read was “The Wisdom of the Bullfrog” by Admiral McRaven. …They called him “Bullfrog” – which was actually the oldest active Navy SEAL by a long time. This is just his lesson on leadership, which he has learned in his life.
